Tom Arnold currently serves as the Irish Government's Special Envoy for Food Systems; Chair, EU Commission's High Level Expert Group on Food Systems Science; Member, Global Panel on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition(GloPan); Member, Board of Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN); Member, Malabo Montpellier Panel; Member, Sight and Life Foundation. His previous roles include: Chair, Irish 2030 Agri-Food Strategy Committee; Member, Champions Network for the UN Food Systems Summit; Chair, EU Commission's Task Force Rural Africa; Coordinator, Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement; Director General, Institute International and European Affairs (IIEA): Chief Executive, Concern Worldwide; Chair, OECD, Committee of Agriculture; Board, Mary Robinson Foundation for Climate Justice; Member, Irish Hunger Task Force; Member, Millennium Hunger Task Force: Member, UN Central Emergency Relief Fund (CERF); Chief Economist and Assistant Secretary General, Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM). His primary degree is in agricultural economics form UCD and he has Masters degrees from the Catholic University of Leuven and Trinity College, Dublin.
