The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

  • The Aircoach service, which leaves every fifteen minutes from Dublin Airport, stops on Kildare Street which is a 5-minute walk from the Royal Irish Academy. The Aircoach service to Dublin Airport departs from Nassau Street Stop 403 outside Trinity College. Allow an hour for your journey. More information

The Royal Irish Academy (RIA) Access Officer is Vanessa Carswell (she/her) in accordance with Section 26(2) of the Disability Act.

The Access Officer is responsible for providing, arranging or co-ordinating assistance to persons with disabilities who wish to access the services provided by RIA. The Access Officer also acts as a point of contact for persons with disabilities who wish to access such services.
