Archaeology Research Grants

The Royal Irish Academy is happy to once more open the annual Archaeology Research Grants Scheme in partnership with the National Monuments Service (Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage), and the Historic Environment Division (Department for Communities, NI) which enables this scheme to operate on an all-island basis.

This scheme welcomes proposals for smaller-scale archaeological research associated with the archaeology of Ireland and/or Northern Ireland.

No one grand will exceed 50% of the total grant funding for the year. It is expected that grants will be made in the region of €5,000.

The Archaeology Research Grants scheme 2024 opens on 9 February 2024 and closes on 29 March 2024.
