Archaeology Research Grants
The Royal Irish Academy has previously run an annual Archaeology Research Grants Scheme in partnership with the National Monuments Service (Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht). This scheme funds projects that provide a significant and original contribution to archaeological knowledge. This year we are pleased to say that the Department for Communities NI through the Historic Environment Division are also partnering with us on this scheme, allowing the scheme to now operate on an all-island basis. The intention of these grants is to fund research focusing on an innovative and stand-alone research question with a stand-alone research answer.
The Archaeology Research Grants scheme 2020 opened on 4 February 2020 and please note that due to the current Covid-19 situation the deadline for applications has been extended until 14 April 2020.
