Excavation of the Prehistoric Axe Manufacturing Site at the storm beach at Ballaghaline, near Fisherstreet, Doolin in Co. Clare.

The excavation has shown that the manufacture of shale axe roughouts took place here with the production of other shale tools. RC dates show that this activity took place during the Mesolithic period
