Irish History Online
30 November 2015A new milestone has been reached by Irish History Online, the National Bibliographic Centre for Irish History hosted by the Academy Library (www.irishhistoryonline.ie), and its associated network of European Historical Bibliographies (www.histbib.eu). The proceedings of the Fifth International Conference on European Historical Bibliographies, held in Prague in 2013, were published in 2015. The essay collection, Historical bibliography as an essential source for historiography (Newcastle-on-Tyne, 2015), is edited by Bernadette Cunningham of the Royal Irish Academy in collaboration with three members of the Czech Historical Bibliography project team at the Czech Academy of Sciences. The first half of the book is broadly historical. The second part addresses issues of database design and optimization of the value of bibliographies within the humanities research infrastructure.
