Personnel
The project is overseen by a board of editors: H.B. Clarke (formerly of Department of Medieval History, National University of Ireland, Dublin), Raymond Gillespie (Department of History, National University of Ireland, Maynooth), Jacinta Prunty (Department of History, National University of Ireland, Maynooth) and Michael Potterton (Department of History, National University of Ireland, Maynooth). Anngret Simms (formerly of Department of Geography, National University of Ireland, Dublin) and John Andrews (formerly of Department of Geography, Trinity College) acts as a consultant editor. Staff employed on the project in Academy House are: Sarah Gearty (cartographic and managing editor); Jennifer Moore and Frank Cullen (editorial assistants). Rachel Murphy, Irish Research Council scholar (GIS researcher). Periodically researchers are employed on specific atlases. The compilation of material for each atlas is the responsibility of one or more contributors drawn from a variety of disciplines, mainly geography, history and archaeology.
