The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Christine Morris

Christine Morris is Andrew A David Professor in Greek Archaeology and History in the Department of Classics, Trinity College Dublin. She specialises in the archaeology of the Mediterranean, with particular focus on the Aegean Bronze Age and Cyprus and with specific interests in ceramics, art, ancient religion, and in modern re-imaginings and reuses of the past. She is a graduate of the University of Cambridge (BA) and University College London (PhD). She is a Fellow of Trinity College Dublin and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London. She sits on the Managing Committee of the Irish Institute of Hellenic Studies at Athens, is a member of of the Unlocking Sacred Landscapes international network, and of the Gender and Archaeology in Europe group (within the European Association of Archaeologists).
