Dr Elizabeth Shee Twohig MA, PhD (NUI), MRIA, FSA. Formerly Senior Lecturer in the Department of Archaeology, University College, Cork, now officially retired. She has published extensively on the topics of prehistoric megalithic and rock art of Western Europe, and on megalithic tombs generally. Other research interests include the history of archaeological research, the role of women archaeologists and recording methods in archaeology. She has served on a range of Boards and Committees including the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland, the Cork Historical and Archaeological Society and the Discovery Programme, and on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Irish Archaeology. She is currently a member of both the Standing Committee for Archaeology and the Historical Studies Committee in the Royal Irish Academy, and has been a Member of Council and Vice President of the Academy.
