We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Lunchtime Lecture to accompany the Polish Embassy's exhibition on the life and career of Consul-General Wacław Tadeusz Dobrzyński

Ian Cantwell, grandson of the Consul-General Wacław Tadeusz Dobrzyński, will give a talk on his grandfather at the Royal Irish Academy on 10 May, 1pm. 

This talk will accompany an exhibition organised by the Polish Embassy ‘Friends in times of turmoil: the story of Consul Dobrzński, the first Polish diplomat to Ireland’
