Nominations open for the Office of RIA President

11 October 2022

The RIA is governed by its President and Council who, in accordance with the founding Charter, are elected by the Members at a general meeting held in the spring of each year. The term of the current President, Dr Mary Canning is due to end on 16 March 2023. Nominations for her successor are now being sought.

Nominations must be signed by no fewer than twenty Members, must be accompanied by evidence of the consent of the nominee, and must be received by the Secretary of the Academy before the second Monday in December.”     (extract Chapter VII, 2 (b))
  • …the names of all validly nominated candidates shall be posted in Academy House…. the names of…candidates shall be posted in the order in which they were received…”  (extract Chapter VII, 2 (e))
