The Royal Irish Academy congratulates Dr Sadhbh Lee on being identified as an Outstanding Young Physician Leader (YPL) by the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP)
13 August 2019Dr Lee will now attend the 9th IAP YPL Programme taking place on 24-29 October 2019 in conjunction with the World Health Summit being held in Berlin, Germany, 27-29 October 2019.
This year’s programme is articulated in three parts:
- A specific leadership development programme with a focus on analysing models of leadership with the aim of developing an individual action plan for personal leadership growth.
- A visit sponsored by the Bayer Science and Education Foundation to research laboratories in the Berlin area.
- Participation by the awardees in the events of the World Health Summit, a forum within which the YPL will be exposed to an outstanding scientific and policy programme attended by a global group of medical and policy professionals.
As a member of the IAP, the Royal Irish Academy was delighted to support Dr Lee’s nomination and fully endorses her attendance at and participation in the programme.
Dr Sadhbh Lee – Bio
Dr Sadhbh Lee is a Obstetrics and Gynaecology trainee with a keen interest in environmental issues and the impact these have on our health. She is a founding member of Irish Doctors of the Environment and a former member of the Sustainability Committee in University Hospital Limerick. She is currently working in University Hospital Galway and holds the positions of RCPI Trainee Rep and Lead NCHD for the Women and Children’s Directorate. Outside of her medical training, she has previously worked as Communications Intern for the Irish Forum for Global Health, and was selected to attend as a delegate for the One Young World Global Forum for Youth Leaders in 2015.
