The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Find out more about the wealth of research data and cultural heritage materials in the repository!

Join staff from the Digital Repository Ireland (DRI) on Culture Night in the Royal Irish Academy (RIA) to find out more about the wealth of research data and cultural heritage collections that can be explored in the Repository! Collections include An Post Museum & Archive’s Irish Postage Stamp Collection, reproductive rights campaign material published by the Archiving Reproductive Health project, the Clare Grand Jury collection, Sybil Connolly Design Sketches from the Hunt Museum in Limerick, the Fáilte Ireland Tourism Photographic Collection published by Dublin City Library & Archive, the Clarke Stained Glass Studios Collection published by Trinity College Dublin Library, and many more.

DRI staff members will be on hand to talk about the work of the National Open Research Forum (NORF), the driving force behind Ireland’s transition towards on open research environment, which is coordinated by the DRI. We’ll also be joined by DRI member The Discovery Programme, a national archeological research body. The event is free and open to everyone!
