A research innovation symposium, organised by the Royal Irish Academy (RIA) and the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland (AmCham) took place yesterday at the Royal Irish Academy.
The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.
Read more about the RIAThe US-Ireland Research Innovation Awards are a joint initiative of the Royal Irish Academy and the American Chamber of Commerce, Ireland. The awards recognise excellence in research innovation, creation, process and invention by an organisation, as a result of US Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Ireland. They recognise and acknowledge exemplary ideas, originating in Irish organisations, and underpinned by innovative research, that have a strong social and/or economic impact.
Between 2015 and 2020, the US-Ireland Research Innovation Awards were jointly presented by the Royal Irish Academy and the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland to recognise excellence in research innovation across three categories:
• An Irish SME/Start Up with US links
• An Irish Higher Education Institute or Research Centre with US links
• The Irish operations of a US Multi-National Corporation
