The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

The Celtic Academies Alliance showcase of research excellence and impact through collaborations between Wales, Scotland, and Ireland.

We will learn about Irish- and Welsh-Jewish histories from experts at Bangor University and Trinity College Dublin funded through a pilot Ireland-Wales research collaboration scheme by Agile Cymru. The event will also feature previous successful research collaborations between Ireland and Wales that created benefits for both countries. Presentations from the RIA-RSE Ireland-Scotland Bilateral Network Grants will offer a blueprint of success for Ireland-Wales collaboration.  

Before closing, a panel of experts will discuss next steps towards fostering closer research links between Ireland and Wales.
