The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Joanna Hofer-Robinson

Joanna Hofer-Robinson is a lecturer in nineteenth-century literature at University College Cork. Her recent publications include the monograph *Dickens and Demolition* (Edinburgh UP, 2018) and *Sensation Drama, 1860—1880: An Anthology* (Edinburgh UP, 2019; co-edited with Beth Palmer), as well as articles on various aspects of nineteenth-century drama and Dickens studies. She is currently working on a new monograph project titled “Infrastructural Forms.”
