The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

A library exhibition of journals and photographs recording Cynthia Longfield’s travels with a selection of rare entomological works.

 

The Madam Dragonfly exhibition features the photographs, notebooks and diaries illustrating Cynthia Longfield's voyage to the Pacific Islands between 1924 and 1925. A selection of rare entomological works of this collection - covering a period from the mid-17th century to the 1920s - are on display and show in bright colours her interest in insects from around the world.
