THE ROYAL IRISH ACADEMY IS IRELAND'S LEADING BODY OF EXPERTS IN THE SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES

The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

The text of DIFP IX is complete

25 August 2014
We finally got the introduction and the prelims and endmatter of DIFP IX completed and off for copyediting in the first weeks of August. It was a very time-consuming period as there were a complicated series of amendments to implement.

In mid-August Michael had the great pleasure of chairing Professor John Horne’s (TCD) paper to the Parnell Summer School on Ireland and the First World War.

The entire text of DIFP IX is now complete and we are continually reviewing the text to tidy up loose ends and catch errors.

Michael’s Ireland, the United Nations and the Congo was reviewed very positively in the UN Tribune.
