The Royal Irish Academy/Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann champions research. We identify and recognise Ireland’s world class researchers. We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest Academic honour in Ireland.

2019 Directed Research for World Heritage Sites

The Royal Irish Academy is pleased to announce that once again it invites applications for ‘Directed Research for World Heritage Sites’

The RIA invites applications for our ‘Directed Research for World Heritage Sites’ grant which offers an opportunity for those working on the archaeology of the Brú na Bóinne and Sceilig Mhichíl World Heritage Sites to apply for assistance to aid their work. €20,000 is available for this grant this year.
