We support scholarship and promote awareness of how science and the humanities enrich our lives and benefit society. We believe that good research needs to be promoted, sustained and communicated. The Academy is run by a Council of its members. Membership is by election and considered the highest academic honour in Ireland.

Bringing together community archives from diverse backgrounds all around Ireland for a day of talks, workshops and knowledge sharing.

The Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) and the Irish Community Archive Network (iCAN) are pleased to announce our collaborative conference ‘Supporting Community Archives into the Future’.

This event will bring community archives from diverse backgrounds all around the island of Ireland together for a day of talks, workshops and knowledge sharing. The event programme includes spotlights on Black and Irish, and Clare Memories, as well as guidance from the Heritage Council, the Oral History Network of Ireland, and the DRI ‘LEGO for Reproducibility’ workshop. e.

The event is free and in-person in the Royal Irish Academy. Places are limited so interested community archives should register soon.
