Disciplinary Perspectives on Gaps in Open Science Support in Europe

13 December 2023

The Digital Repository of Ireland is pleased to share some highlights from our recent work in the EOSC Future project exploring disciplinary engagement with the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) in collaboration with the Research Data Alliance (RDA).

These short summary cards highlight key takeaways from the report Gaps in Open Science Support in Europe: Disciplinary Perspectives prepared as part of task 10.2.1 “Widening EOSC awareness and engagement in underrepresented communities.” This task aims to help EOSC become more receptive and responsive to the needs and realities of various domain-specific research communities as users of EOSC by providing insight into the challenges facing disciplines which are not as well-supported or engaged in Open Science.

The conclusions presented here emerged from a series of interviews, surveys, focus groups, and conference events over the course of the project conducted with representatives from disciplinary communities and the RDA, a volunteer-led community ‘building the social and technical bridges to enable open sharing and reuse of data.’
