DRI Sponsors the 2024 Digital Preservation Award for Research and Innovation

07 May 2024

The Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) is proud to share that we are the official sponsors of the Digital Preservation Award 2024 for Research and Innovation.

Created by the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) to raise awareness about digital preservation, the Digital Preservation Awards celebrate the work of the global digital preservation community, which works together to bring about a sustainable future for our digital assets. The awards are held every two years. At the last Awards ceremony, held in 2022, the Wellcome Trust funded DRI project ‘Digital Preservation of Reproductive Health Resources: Archiving the 8th‘ (Archiving Reproductive Health) was announced as the winner of the Digital Preservation Award for Safeguarding the Digital Legacy.

This year, as sponsors of the Digital Preservation Award 2024 for Research and Innovation, DRI is proud to work with our long-time collaborators, the DPC, to recognise excellence in practical research and innovation activities.

DRI Director, Dr Lisa Griffith, said:

We are delighted to sponsor the Digital Preservation Award for Research and Innovation. It’s really important to have this opportunity to showcase the work of digital preservation colleagues through these awards. It means we can learn from exemplar projects and share emerging international best practice with the community in Ireland.

The Digital Preservation Awards provide a rare opportunity to engage in high-profile advocacy, articulating nuanced messages about how and why one might engage in digital preservation. Learn more about the Digital Preservation Awards 2024 on the DPC website.
