This year, the Royal Irish Academy is delighted to announce funding for fourteen early career researchers under the annual Charlemont Grants scheme.

The long-running scheme offers researchers an opportunity to undertake short international visits from Ireland for the conduct of primary research in any subject area including the development of new research collaborations and networks and access to research equipment and training not available in Ireland.

This year the scheme supports projects as diverse as Dr. Ramin Ghiasi's (UCD) research with colleagues in Stanford University, USA on "Towards Efficient Railway Track Monitoring: A Transatlantic Collaboration" and Dr. Sarah Durcan's (NCAD) examination of "The Materiality of Film in a Post-Digital Age" with Aberystwyth University.

For details of all funded projects see here.
