R.J. Hunter Research bursaries 2023

30 May 2023

The Royal Irish Academy is delighted to announce funding for two projects under this year's R.J. Hunter Research Bursary scheme.

This year Noel Murphy will investigate north/south connections around the eighteenth-century linen industry while Gordon D'Arcy will carry out an investigation of historical documents relating to the ecology of a vanished mid- Ulster forest.

The purpose of this grant scheme which is kindly supported by Laura Hunter Houghton in memory of her late father Bob Hunter who was a notable Ulster Historian is to provide support for the direct costs of research on aspects of Ulster History during the period 1500-1800.

Grants of up to €2,500 are supported.
