RIA Multidisciplinary Committees 2022-2026

The new committee members will use their knowledge and expertise to advise the Academy and will contribute significantly to the Academy’s public engagement and outreach programmes on an all-island basis. The RIA has ten multidisciplinary committees, five in the sciences and five in the humanities and social sciences, as well as two standing committees (Archaeology and International Affairs). 

The incoming committee members represent a broad spectrum of academics, researchers and industry experts from across the island of Ireland and were selected based on their discipline expertise and public engagement experience, following an open call. The committees exist to provide expertise and to promote the value of the sciences, humanities and social sciences.  

The incoming committees will commence their term in September 2022. Full details of committee compositions are available below.

Coistí Ildisciplíneacha Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann 2022-2026   

Ba mhaith leis an Acadamh baill nua na coistí ildisciplíneach a fhógairt don téarma 2022-2026. 

 Bainfidh na baill coistí nua úsáid as a gcuid saineolais chun comhairle a thabhairt don Acadamh agus cuirfidh siad go mór le clár phoiblí an Acadaimh ar bhonn uile-oileáin. 

Tá deich gcoiste ildisciplíneach ag an Acadamh, cúig cinn sna heolaíochtaí agus cúig cinn sna daonnachtaí agus sna heolaíochtaí sóisialta, chomh maith le dhá bhuanchoiste (Seandálaíocht agus Gnóthaí Idirnáisiúnta). 

Tá ballraoícht leathan ag na coistí ildisciplíneach ó thaobh scoláirí, taighdeoirí agus saineolaithe tionscail agus roghnaíodh iad bunaithe ar a saineolas disciplíneach agus taithí rannpháirtíochta poiblí, tar éis glaoch iarratais oscailte.  

Tugann na coistí comhairle and saineolas don Acadamh ar ghnéithe a bhaineann leis na disciplín and tá mór-chuid clár phoiblí an Acadaimh ag braith ar shaothar na gcoistí. Cuirfear tús le téarma na gcoistí nua i Meán Fómhair 2022.
