Appointments to the Policy Oversight Group

It advises upon the initiation and implementation of the Academy policy activities, it works with the Academic Board in identifying strategic issues to be pursued and oversees a standardised quality assurance process for all activities in this domain.

The Policy and International Relations Secretary is seeking applications for two vacancies that have arisen on the POG due to the completion of the current two year term.  Due to the Terms of Reference and the current composition of the POG at least one successful applicant will be from the science section.

There are approximately eight POG meetings annually, for the membership’s convenience POG meetings will be scheduled alongside the Academy’s Executive Committee and Council. The POG will meet regularly with electronic communication in between meetings. Appointments will be made for a two year term effective of 20 June.

The membership of the committee is made up of:

• The Policy and International Relations Secretary (Chair)
• Science Secretary
• PL&A Secretary
• Up to 3 additional MRIA may also be co-opted from the PL&A and Science Sections to serve a length of office of two years with no more than two successive two year periods of office.
• Secretary: Head of Policy and International Relations
• Other policy staff may attend as required.
