On Monday 16th February 2015, 19 recipients of the award attended the ceremony held in Academy House to receive their certificates along with the title ‘Charlemont Scholar’. The 2015 scheme awarded 29 scholars in total, from 9 institutions in Ireland, with a combined fund of c. €50,000.

The Royal Irish Academy has funded thirty early career researchers under the Charlemont Grants scheme, which enables researchers to undertake short international visits from Ireland for the conduct of primary research in any subject area.

This year, the Royal Irish Academy is delighted to announce funding for fourteen early career researchers under the annual Charlemont Grants scheme.

All applications should demonstrate that Academy funds are sought for a clearly defined, discrete piece of collaborative research, which will have an identifiable outcome on completion of the Academy-funded component of the project.

Those successful for this grant scheme will be notified of the outcome via emailed letter. Following this, the drawdown process for the grant will commence.
